Rich Godshall's Biography Page
Rich Godshall, watercolor artist, spent 25 years in the graphic arts field as an illustrator, designer and art director.

Having left the graphics field behind Rich has since opened a custom picture frame shop in Skippack, Pennsylvania and is also devoting more time to his passion for painting. His preferred medium is watercolor because of its fluidity, transparency and spontaneity.

His subject matter is primarily scenes found around Bucks and Montgomery Counties and the New Jersey shore. Rich’s paintings are generally characterized by a strong sense of light as he enjoys the contrasts presented in a light filled subject — light vs. shadow, color temperatures of cool against warm and the use of cast shadows which themselves become important design elements in his paintings.

A resident of Willow Grove (outside of Philadelphia, PA in Montgomery County), Rich is a member of the Greater Norristown Art League and the Bucks-Mont Art League where he formerly served as president for 4 years. He’s also teaches watercolor classes at the Abington Adult Evening School, in Abington, PA. Rich’s paintings have been accepted into many juried shows and festivals and are also included in numerous private collections throughout the tri-state area.
